What is NetLicensing?
Question
What is NetLicensing and what is it used for?
Answer
Labs64 NetLicensing is a cloud service for managing software licenses, sometimes called Licensing-as-a-Service (LaaS). Software vendors set up how their products are licensed, using built-in licensing models such as trials, subscriptions, SaaS plans, feature licensing, floating, node-locked, pay-per-use and quota. Their applications then ask the REST API what a customer may use.
Customers buy, renew and upgrade in the white-label NetLicensing Shop or in the vendor’s own online shop. Vendors manage everything in the Management Console, through the API, or from AI agents with the MCP server. Nobody has to build or run a license server.
NetLicensing is made by Labs64 GmbH in Munich, Germany. The NetLicensing Overview and Getting Started are good next stops.
